Klingende Rieden® 2025
The Klingenden Rieden on May 17, 2025, is a unique wine-tasting hike through the picturesque vineyards and offers the opportunity to discover the diverse wines of Spitz an der Donau accompanied by folk music.
The starting point of the Klingende Rieden (Sounding Vineyards) is at the Spitzer Kirchenplatz (Church Square). From there, the route continues along Kremserstraße to the foot of Ried Singerriedel, one of Austria's most famous vineyards. Here, visitors can sample the first wines of the day from the Franz Hirtzberger and Fritz Rixinger wineries.
The next section of the Klingende Rieden (Sounding Vineyards) takes participants over the Singerriedel to the Rotes Tor (Red Gate). At the Rotes Tor, wines from the Thomas Özelt and Karl Lechner wineries are available for tasting, along with breathtaking views of Spitz.
The route then continues through the Pluris vineyard to the Hartberg vineyard junction. Along this path, participants can admire the scenic beauty of the terraced vineyards. Winemakers from the Anton Nothnagl and Florian Schneeweis wineries await them at the viewing point.
The final section of the tour at the Klingende Rieden takes participants through the Quitten district to the 1000-Eimerberg (1000 Bucket Mountain). This ascent rewards participants with breathtaking 360-degree views and the opportunity to sample wines from the Karl Lagler and Roman Gritsch wineries located there.
The Klingende Rieden offer a unique opportunity to explore the wine-growing village of Spitz and get to know the diversity of its wines.
The two regional music groups "Hoidagrobm-Musi" and the "Borderland Dixielandband" will provide the musical accompaniment.
Whether you're a wine lover or simply curious about the beauty of the terraced vineyards, the Klingende Rieden ( Clanging Vineyards ) are an absolute must for anyone visiting the Wachau. Don't miss the opportunity to participate and discover the diversity of the Klingende Rieden wines.
